Headteacher’s Welcome

A very warm welcome to Whipman Woods Flying High Academy - a school where our children are always placed front and centre in everything we do. I am incredibly proud to lead our new and growing school at the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and fulfilling journey to excellence. Whipman Woods is more than just a school - it is a community built on care, aspiration and a deep sense of belonging.

We are passionate about providing a rich, inclusive and ambitious education for all. Our team of dedicated staff go the extra mile, every day, to ensure that every child is supported to succeed, to thrive, and to develop into confident, compassionate and capable young people. We want every child to leave Whipman Woods not only prepared for secondary school, but with the self-belief and skills to realise the high ambitions they hold for themselves throughout their lives.

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and is held in high esteem as the key to unlocking learning across every subject. From the early years, we place great importance on nurturing confident, fluent readers who are equipped to access and enjoy the full richness of the curriculum - and who develop a lifelong love of books and stories along the way.
