Anti-Bullying
At Whipman Woods, we teach children that bullying means STOP – Several Times On Purpose. Bullying is when someone deliberately and repeatedly hurts, upsets, frightens, excludes or is unkind to another person, including through words, actions or online behaviour. We help children understand the difference between bullying and a one-off disagreement or unkind incident, while making clear that all unkind or unsafe behaviour should be reported to a trusted adult. Children are taught to speak up if bullying happens to them or if they see it happening to someone else, knowing that adults will listen, take them seriously and act. Whipman Woods has zero tolerance for bullying: every child has the right to feel safe, valued and included, and the school will respond promptly to concerns, work to stop the behaviour and provide appropriate support for everyone involved.
